Hildie McQueen’s fifth book in the Regency in Color series is titled “The Beguiling Earl.” Lord Grantham Mackenzie, a widower and father of two young sons is the main character of the narrative. Octavia Smith, a governess is hired by him to take care of them and educate them. He’s determined to be single but he can’t help but feel something for Octavia.
As they travel to his family’s rural estate, his mother extends an invitation to a woman in an attempt to persuade Grantham to get married, which further complicates the story. Octavia had to choose whether to stay in Grantham’s employment and see him wed another lady because she has affection for him as well.
