About this book
The Boy Scouts for Uncle Sam is by John Henry Goldfrap, and its contents list chapters called The Eagles at Home, The Face at the Transom and An Ocean Derelict, among others. A character named Rob says a week ago the papers said that a submarine of that type had been sold to Russia and shipped for that country from the factory of the inventor at Bridgeport, Connecticut. The ensign says that the freighter Long Island did not sink, but hung about the coast and, under cover of fog, slipped into the harbor of Snug Haven on the South Carolina coast.
A chapter headed The Island Hut has Rob, in his place of concealment, hearing the two men talk as they rowed. Rob gathers that the stealing of the plans of the submarine was not yet complete, and that Barton was to remain on the island as trusted aide to Mr. Barr.
