The Darrow Enigma

The Darrow Enigma is credited to Melvin L. Severy. The contents list, among others, names episodes called The Episode of the Darkened Room, The Episode of the Sealed Document and The Episode of the Telltale Thumb. Under the heading The Episode of the Darkened Room, a speaker says he is a graduate of a Western university and, by profession, a physician.

Clinton Browne is described as a young artist whose landscapes were beginning to attract wide attention in Boston, and Charles Herne as a Western gentleman of some literary attainments, but comparatively unknown here in the East. A speaker who stepped out into the darkness noticed a tall form glide behind a tree and could not be sure it was Ragobah, yet had little doubt of it. A speaker says that in those days there were but few people he could not mesmerise, provided sufficient opportunity were allowed for hypnotic suggestion, and determined to see if any of this old power still remained.
