About this book
The Daughter of an Empress is a book by L. Mühlbach, and its contents list names chapters on, among others, Countess Natalie Dolgorucki, Count Munnich, Count Ostermann and the night of the conspiracy. The text says that neither Count Ostermann nor Count Munnich had been able to obtain from the regent any thing more than a confirmation of their offices and dignities, to which Biron, jealous of power, had been unwilling to make any addition. The text says a decisive conversation was to be held with the duchess and her husband, Prince Ulrich of Brunswick.
Two characters, Natalie and Paulo, call good-night to each other as a door closes. In another scene a man asks a woman whether she is angry with him, and she answers that she is not angry but fears him. The woman tells the man that he is so great a hero and that his sword has done so many brave deeds.
