About this book

The Girl Aviators' Sky Cruise is credited to Margaret Burnham. The text refers to an earlier volume called The Girl Aviators on Golden Wings, in which a mine, otherwise inaccessible, had been opened up by Mr. Bell in a remote part of the desert hills of Nevada. The present story commences soon after the return of the party from the Far West, when they were much surprised to observe the mushroom-like rise of the Mortlake factory.

Roy works away at the hasp of a padlock while the voices of his guardians come very faintly, and an instant later stands in the open with throbbing pulses and flushed cheeks. The winning of the Sky Cruise, as the newspapers had dubbed it, was the talk of Hampton that night, and a young girl had driven the machine through its daring dash.
