About this book

The Hot Flash Club is the foundational novel of Nancy Thayer's Hot Flash Club series, the connected fiction project that follows four women in their fifties through the various complications of midlife. The series broke from the standard contemporary romance focus on younger women by centering on protagonists in their fifties, with the wider concerns of midlife including marriage, children, careers, parents, health, and the various practical realities of the period providing the structural framework for the connected novels.

The Hot Flash Club setting brings the four central women together at a fitness center spa where they form the friendship that drives the wider series. The series followed the four women across multiple connected novels, with each book developing the various plot threads that the wider series had been building.

For longtime Nancy Thayer fans, The Hot Flash Club is the foundational entry in one of her major connected projects. For readers interested in midlife focused contemporary fiction, the series is a useful resource. The Hot Flash Club continues with several follow up novels.
