About this book
German Emperor William II is the author of The Kaiser's Memoirs. The contents list chapters on Bismarck, Caprivi, Hohenlohe, Bülow and Bethmann, and others titled Science and Art, My Relations with the Church, Army and Navy and The Outbreak of War. The text says that Prince Bismarck never told anyone about his great political projects. A passage says that at Brest-Litovsk the writer could easily see that the conduct of the Russian officers toward him was essentially cooler and haughtier than on the occasion of his first visit to St. Petersburg.
A passage tells that the Tsar, who had heard a great deal about the fine antlers of the stags at Rominten, wished to have some of the same sort at Spala, in Poland. The text adds that Freiherr von Sternburg was sent to the Spala hunting lodge one summer in order to give advice regarding this project.
