About this book
The Life of Lazarillo of Tormes is presented with a sequel by Juan de Luna. The contents list names, among others, the chapters Lazaro Tells about His Life and His Parents, How Lazaro Took up with a Priest and the Things That Happened to Him with That Man, and How Lazaro Took up with a Squire.
The text says an anonymous sequel appeared in 1555 with the title The Second Part of Lazarillo of Tormes, His Fortunes and Misfortunes. The text says that in that sequel Lazaro makes friends with some Germans and his wife gives birth to a daughter, and that Lazaro enlists to go on an expedition to fight the Turks and is miraculously changed into a fish. The speaker tells of a farmer from his region whom an Inquisitor sent for to ask for some of his pears, and who pulled up the tree by the roots and sent it along with the fruit.
