About this book
The Lion’s Share is a book by Arnold Bennett. A character named Audrey bursts out, "Miss Ingate, what can I do? I must do something. What can I do?" Audrey says in a low voice, "I shall leave this house," and Miss Ingate "nearly screamed" the word "To-morrow!" Mrs. Spatt says, "We have friends of yours here, Miss Nickall."
A passage says that Nick "rushed at the girls regardless of her arm" and that "Her joy was enchanting." Audrey is shown puzzling her head to discover why "the Foas should exert such influence upon the fate of music in Paris."
