About this book
Findley Holbrook arrives at Ridgley School on foot, wondering whether he will find friends among the boys already gathered there. Known as Teeny-bits since childhood, he soon faces an unwelcome test when fellow pupils try to arrange a wrestling match for their amusement. His response turns the dormitory into a noisy arena and gives the newcomer an immediate chance to challenge their expectations.
Clayton H. Ernst combines a school novel with adventure and mystery. The wooded campus near Hamilton, its dormitory rooms and its sporting life provide one setting; a later night scene follows Teeny-bits through Greensboro as he anxiously makes his way home. Readers interested in school friendships and rivalry will find a story attentive to the pressure of being watched and judged by other boys, alongside the suspense of danger beyond the school grounds.
