About this book
A figure selects stones from a collection, not seldom setting large ones aside in favour of colour and lustre and dropping the chosen pieces into a bag. The figure works through the vessels over a couple of hours, filling nine bags with selected stones and tying the bags securely. The figure passes the packages out to slaves and lingers for a last look at the interior after the wearisome and tensive occupation is finished.
An inscription on a silver tablet declares that there is only one God, who existed from the beginning and will exist without end. The inscription's speaker says the vault and tomb were prepared during life to receive and safeguard the body, although the place may be visited. The inscription's speaker addresses the first stranger to find the tomb and claims lifelong intercourse with Solomon, King of the Jews.
