César Aira’s novel The Seamstress and the Wind is incredibly hilarious and will make you laugh aloud. The protagonist of the tale is a seamstress who is making a wedding gown for a pregnant art teacher in the community. She worries that her son may have unintentionally been abducted and taken to Patagonia while he was playing in a large semi-truck.
She hires a nearby taxi, completely deranged, and follows the semi closely. Her spouse follows along as the story progresses, and together they not only race to the end of the globe but also to experiences filled with passion.
