The Summon Stone

The first book in the “Gates of Good and Evil” series is “The Summon Stone,” written by Ian Irvine. The narrative centers on the Merdrun, a brutal warrior species, and is set in the same universe as his View from the Mirror trilogy. Their long-suppressed summon stone is rising to life, corrupting both good and bad individuals and transforming magical locations into magically contaminated wastelands. It will open a portal and summon the Merdrun through if it isn’t destroyed. To preserve their daughter and their world, the characters Karan and Lilian have to stop the strongest warrior in the void.
