About this book
The title page of The Truth About Jesus asks Is He a Myth? and names M. M. Mangasarian. Part I of the contents list names, among others, A Parable in Confidence, The Christian Documents, Virgin Births, The Origin of the Cross and The Silence of Profane Writers. The title page carries a question attributed to Thomas Huxley: if it is not historically true that such and such things happened in Palestine eighteen centuries ago, what becomes of Christianity?
A guide tells the speaker that for the last two thousand years it has not pleased Jesus to show himself to any one. The text says the worst punishment which either religion held out was a distant and a future punishment. Rabbi Hirsch writes that he did not say Jesus was mentioned in the Rabbinical Books.
