About this book

"The Urban Bestiary: Encountering the Everyday Wild" by Lyanda Lynn Haupt is a book that analyzes the natural world within urban environments. Haupt, a naturalist and author, portrays the lives of various animals that share our cities and suburbs, from familiar creatures like squirrels and pigeons to more elusive ones like coyotes and owls.

About the author

Lyanda Lynn Haupt

Haupt trained as an ornithologist and worked in raptor rehabilitation, and writes about the wildlife that lives in cities rather than the wilderness that does not. Crow Planet is about paying attention to the crows already outside the window. The Urban Bestiary works through the animals most people treat as nuisances.
