Lyanda Lynn Haupt

Haupt trained as an ornithologist and worked in raptor rehabilitation, and writes about the wildlife that lives in cities rather than the wilderness that does not. Crow Planet is about paying attention to the crows already outside the window. The Urban Bestiary works through the animals most people treat as nuisances. Rooted argues for a practical rather than sentimental relationship with the ground underfoot. She raised a starling in her house for a book about Mozart's, which is the sort of thing she does.
