About this book

E. F. Benson adapts Wagner's Valkyrie into English prose, retelling a story unfamiliar to many English readers in a novel first published in 1903. The opening presents a world disturbed by winter storms that persist into spring. Rumors that Erda and the gods are aging, and that Wotan fears for his power, establish uncertainty across the earth and Walhalla.
