The Venetian Painters of the Renaissance comes with an index to their works. The contents list chapters called Value of Venetian Art, The Church and Painting, The Renaissance, Painting and the Renaissance, Pageant Pictures, Painting and the Confraternities and Easel Pictures and Giorgione. The frontispiece is a reproduction of Giorgione's Shepherd at Hampton Court, a picture which perhaps better than any other expresses the Renaissance at the most fascinating point of its course.
The text says that among the Italian schools of painting the Venetian has, for the majority of art-loving people, the strongest and most enduring attraction. The contents also list chapters called Tintoretto, Tintoretto's Portraits, Paul Veronese, Longhi, Canaletto and Guardi and Tiepolo. The index to their works lists, under Dresden, entries including Israelites in Desert, Moses striking Rock and Conversion of Paul.
