About this book
Tulan, by C. C. MacApp, begins with the line that to disobey the orders of the Council of Four was unthinkable to a Space Admiral of the old school. The Admiral of the Fleets of Sennech, shaking with fury, slammed halfway down the long flight of stone steps, and a man named Jezef is described as adjutant through most of Tulan's career, and for some years brother-in-law as well.
Tulan speaks to two sleepy boys on a screen and says he is going to Coar to talk to them about stopping the war. Tulan says he has sixty thousand troops in transports with almost no food, and a voice answers that they are welcome as noncombatants but will have to land disarmed, in areas we designate. A voice says there is bad radiation in the atmosphere and that they are hauling as many away as they can. A man asks Kliu whether hyperspace has velocity and momentum in it and whether a projector could be built to put an entire ship into hyperspace.
