Joel Chandler Harris

Joel Chandler Harris was a Georgia journalist, fiction writer, and folklorist whose best-known work grew from stories he heard during his youth and later reshaped for print. Uncle Remus shortens the full title Uncle Remus, His Songs and His Sayings, issued by D. Appleton in 1880 and dated 1881 on some copies.
