Victory Odes

Pindar was the most celebrated lyric poet of ancient Greece, and these victory odes were commissioned to honor the winners of the great athletic games at Olympia, Delphi, Nemea, and the Isthmus. Way’s English rendering, they preserve the voice of a world that saw victory in the games as a brush with the divine. Free to download as a PDF or EPUB.
