About this book
Zetetic Astronomy, with the subtitle Earth Not a Globe!, is credited to Parallax and presents itself as an experimental inquiry into the true figure of the earth, proving it a plane, without axial or orbital motion. The book asks how, if the Moon is a sphere, as it is declared to be, its surface can reflect the light of the Sun, and holds that the Moon is self-luminous, or shines with a light peculiar to herself.
A discussion of translation says that the word translated worlds is fully as capable of being rendered in the singular number as the plural, and that before the introduction of the Copernican Astronomy it was always translated the world. The book says the conclusion is unavoidable that in six months a given meridian upon the Earth has not moved a single yard, and that therefore the Earth has not the slightest degree of orbital motion.
