Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay was a renowned Indian Bengali author, born in 1838. He is considered one of the most important literary figures of the Bengal renaissance and is famous for his contribution to Bengali literature. His famous novels include “Anandamath”, “Durgeshnandini”, “Kopalkundola”, and “Devi Chaudhurani”.
Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s poem “Vande Mataram” was also later adapted as the National Song of India. Chattopadhyay’s works are known for their patriotic and nationalist themes, and his writing style had a significant influence on the development of modern Bengali literature. He passed away in 1894, leaving behind a rich legacy in Indian literature.
