Monoj Basu

Monoj Basu was born on 25 July 1901, in British India, at present Jessore district Keshobpur, Dengaghat Village in a middle-class family. He was a popular Bengali literature in the Twentieth century.

At first, he studied in his village, then he moved to Ripon Collegiate School, and after that, he got into Khulna Bagerhat College. While studying there he got in touch with Jugantor and entered the Swadeshi Andolon. In 1924 he passed BA from South Suburban College at present, Ashutosh College. later though he started to study Law, but because of financial reasons, he could not complete it.

He was very interested in literature from his childhood days, He started to write poems from as young as 7 years old. So when he really started to write, he wrote a lot, many of his works were popular and he got a lot of awards for them too.
