Feluda Somogro Volume 2 continues the cases of Satyajit Ray’s much-loved Calcutta detective, by this point a fully formed character with a settled circle of companions and a national readership. Where the first volume found Ray sketching out the rules of the world, the second sees him writing with confidence and ambition — longer mysteries, more intricate plots, and travel that takes Feluda further across India.
The stories in this collection move easily between historical curiosity and modern crime. Ray was deeply learned in painting, archaeology, music, and film, and Feluda inherits that knowledge naturally, never in a way that lectures the reader. A famous diamond, a forged Tagore manuscript, a missing magician — each case turns on something Ray himself genuinely cared about.
