Ada Adams
Ada Adams satirizes vampire conventions through the Angel Creek fantasy series for younger readers. The 2012 ReVamped launches the sequence. It follows Dawn, the daughter of a vampire president, as she tries to assemble and train an unlikely team in a town where supernatural residents do not match glamorous popular expectations. Adams says the project began as a television script inspired by society’s fascination with vampires before she reshaped it as a novel. Her background includes psychology, education, magazine editing, and martial arts, interests reflected in the story’s attention to group dynamics and action. ReVamped was followed by ReAwakened and ReBorn, extending Angel Creek into a three-book arc. The debut establishes the series’ governing contrast: public myths present vampires as polished and powerful, while Dawn must work with flawed outsiders whose growth depends on cooperation, practice, and a willingness to question the roles assigned to them.
