A Million to One sets four young women loose on the Titanic to steal a jewelled copy of the Rubáiyát: Josefa the thief, Hinnah the acrobat, Violet the actress and Emilie the artist, each taking a turn to narrate. Adiba Jaigirdar left Dhaka for Tullamore in the Irish midlands at the age of ten. She read English and history at University College Dublin, then postcolonial studies at Kent, and teaches English as a foreign language to recent arrivals in Ireland. Hani and Ishu's Guide to Fake Dating, in which two very different Bengali-Irish schoolgirls stage a romance for reasons of their own, won the YA Book Prize in 2022.
