Alan Moore sharpened his short-form comics scripting through Future Shocks and Time Twisters for 2000 AD. Titan Books gathered selections in two companion collections, Alan Moore’s Shocking Futures and Alan Moore’s Twisted Times, with the latter also collecting linked Abelard Snazz stories. Moore wrote the scripts, and Kevin O’Neill painted the covers. Interior art across the collections came from Alan Davis, Eric Bradbury, John Cooper, Steve Dillon, Dave Gibbons, Garry Leach, Ian Gibson, John Higgins, Brendan McCarthy, Paul Neary, Jesús Redondo, Bryan Talbot, Rafael Boluda Vidal, and Mike White. The compact strips gave Moore room for self-contained science-fiction ideas, comic reversals, and experiments in narration long before his later graphic novels.
