Sweden's best known podcast host writes novels as well. Carl Magnus Alexander Schulman, born in Hemmesdynge on 17 February 1976, built a following through the site Stureplan.se in 2005, then as a blogger for Aftonbladet, then through the podcast he started with Sigge Eklund in 2012, which won both best original channel and best Swedish channel at the national podcast awards. The books turned inward. Glöm mig (2016), an attempt to settle accounts with his mother and her drinking, collected a Book of the Year award in 2017. Överlevarna, published by Albert Bonniers Förlag in 2020 and issued in English by Doubleday in 2021 as The Survivors, translated by Rachel Willson-Broyles, was his fifth novel and the first to travel, with rights sold into more than thirty countries. It cuts between three brothers at a lakeside summer cottage in childhood and the same three men years later, come back to scatter their mother's ashes in the same water. Schulman grew up inside Swedish television: his father Allan produced, his mother Lisette presented, and he has been married to Amanda Schulman since 2010.
