Confessions of a Prairie Bitch, published by It Books in 2010, covers the seven years on Little House on the Prairie from 1974, the ringlets that took an hour a day, her friendship with Melissa Gilbert, and the AIDS fundraising she took up in the eighties after losing friends including Steve Tracy, who played her television husband. It also describes what her older brother did to her through her childhood, which she reported publicly and has campaigned on since as a national spokeswoman for the National Association to Protect Children.
