Miranda Hart
Miranda Hart wrote and played the lead in Miranda, the BBC sitcom that ran from 2009 to 2015 and grew out of her Radio 2 comedy Miranda Hart's Joke Shop. It brought her British Comedy Awards and Royal Television Society awards along with BAFTA nominations, and she was BAFTA nominated again for playing Chummy in Call the Midwife. Is It Just Me?, issued by Hodder & Stoughton in 2012, was her first book, a Sunday Times number one written as advice to her eighteen-year-old self, who keeps interrupting. Later titles include Peggy and Me, about her dog, a children's story called The Girl with the Lost Smile, and the 2024 memoir I Haven't Been Entirely Honest With You, which set out years of illness following Lyme disease and the ME that came after it. Born in Torquay in 1972 into a Royal Navy family, she took a politics degree in Bristol and trained at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts.
