Amanda DuBois

Amanda DuBois brings experience in nursing and law to the Camille Delaney mystery series. The Complication opens that sequence with Seattle attorney Camille Delaney confronting questions about medical responsibility, family loyalty, and professional ethics. Girl Friday Books issued The Complication in 2022, and its legal and clinical settings draw on DuBois's work as a registered nurse before she became an attorney. Her practice has included medical malpractice and family law, fields that inform the pressures surrounding Camille's cases without turning the story into a procedural manual. DuBois has also written All the Evil Men, continuing the same series and its focus on how institutions affect vulnerable people. The Complication received recognition from several independent book-award programs, including the Eric Hoffer Awards and the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. Across the series, DuBois uses a lawyer's investigation to connect evidence, relationships, and the consequences of decisions made inside hospitals, offices, and families.
