The Abandoned, a short prequel with a different narrator, was issued just ahead of the first novel. The Visitor, the fourth novel, was shortlisted by readers for a Goodreads Choice award in horror in 2016. Amanda Stevens was raised in rural Arkansas, born in the town of Bradford, and has spent most of her career in Houston. The bulk of her seventy-odd books are romantic suspense for Harlequin Intrigue, and the Graveyard Queen keeps that thriller frame under its gothic surface.
