Amy Noelle Parks

Amy Noelle Parks writes fiction for teen readers that combines romance with intellectual puzzles and distinctive settings. Lia and Beckett’s Abracadabra places seventeen-year-old Lia Sawyer in a stage-magic competition complicated by her grandmother’s disappearance and a rivalry with the Blackwell family. Abrams published the novel through its Amulet Books imprint in 2022 and classifies it as a teen romantic comedy. Library records independently identify Parks as author and list stage magicians, contests, secrecy, and romance among its subjects. Parks is also a mathematics education professor at Michigan State University, an academic background that complements her interest in problem solving and structured challenges. Her earlier novel The Quantum Weirdness of the Almost-Kiss similarly joins an unusual conceptual frame to relationships and self-discovery. In Lia and Beckett’s Abracadabra, performance, family history, and investigation give the central romance its momentum, while the contest lets supporting characters contribute skills and motives beyond the pairing itself.
