Angelique Jurd

Angelique Jurd is a New Zealand writer of contemporary gay romance whose work emphasizes character, recovery, and the creation of supportive relationships. The Joey sequence places Rick between Joey and Trust as its second part. The 2019 book shifts attention within an established emotional arc rather than beginning an unrelated series. Jurd released her first novel, Jesse's Smile, in 2018 after studying languages, English literature, and media, traveling widely, raising a family, and working as a business journalist. Her other connected fiction includes the San Capistrano, Recovery, and Edelweiss Grove books. Those sequences reveal her interest in recurring communities where later stories can examine the consequences of earlier choices. Rick benefits from that structure because recognition and change carry context from the opening installment. Readers interested in relationship-centered series can follow the pair's development into Trust while also exploring Jurd's broader range of coastal, small-town, and recovery narratives.
