Arno C. Gaebelein

Arno C. Gaebelein wrote biblical commentary and edited the religious periodical Our Hope during a long ministry in the United States. The Annotated Bible, Vol. 1 addresses Genesis through Deuteronomy, treating the Pentateuch book by book from Gaebelein's conservative evangelical perspective. It formed the opening Old Testament volume of a larger commentary sequence that later continued from Joshua to Chronicles, Ezra to Psalms, Proverbs to Ezekiel, and Daniel to Malachi. Library records use his full name, Arno Clemens Gaebelein, and date the original series to the early twentieth century. He also served on the editorial group associated with the Scofield Reference Bible, placing his work within the era's Bible-conference and dispensational publishing networks.
