Ashleigh Bello
Ashleigh Bello writes fantasy centered on freedom, inherited power, and young people confronting rigid social systems. Belvedor and the Four Corners opens the Belvedor Saga and introduces Arianna Belvedor, a seventeen-year-old raised inside a kingdom divided among Healers, Creators, Agrarians, and Warriors. Citizenship depends on surviving a demanding test, yet Arianna’s desire for freedom leads her to question the king and the structure governing the Four Corners. Bello presents the book as volume one, making its world-building and Arianna’s choices foundations for the later sequence. The novel combines an adolescent growth arc with sword-based adventure, political secrecy, and a protagonist learning that skill does not require obedience. Bello has continued developing the Belvedor setting while also writing other fantasy, including A Myrmaid’s Kiss. Belvedor and the Four Corners is especially useful as an introduction to her work because it establishes the roles, geography, and conflict that shape the series while keeping Arianna’s search for agency at the center.
