Ashley B Davis

Ashley B Davis is a California writer whose debut combines youth fantasy, friendship, and romance. The Space Between You and Me follows Apollo and Jonah, former best friends whose shared magical bond is dangerous within their community. Apollo is a musician living among outsiders, while Jonah balances school, baseball, and family responsibilities. Their uneasy reunion develops alongside the discovery of a scheme affecting children in their clan, so personal trust and communal duty cannot be separated. Published in 2022 under Davis's own imprint, the novel carries ISBN 9798986708720 and is presented as a slow-building story about the cost of magic and the meaning of family. Davis has discussed choosing self-publication and the practical lessons of taking a first book from an early draft to readers. That background gives the novel a clear place in her career. Its invented magical society provides the larger conflict within an unequal magical order, but the emotional center remains the changing friendship between two young men who must reconsider what they owe each other.
