Barbara Bregstein

Easy Spanish Step-by-Step is built on the order of teaching rather than on themes: verbs and structures come in the sequence that lets a learner build sentences immediately, instead of the usual chapters organised around the airport and the restaurant.

Bregstein taught Spanish for decades and the book assumes an adult who wants to understand how the grammar works rather than repeat phrases.

It is drier than the app-driven material and considerably more useful for anyone who intends to read or write the language rather than order coffee in it.
