Barry Pain (1864–1928) was an English journalist, humorist, and short-story writer, born Barry Eric Odell Pain in Cambridge. He made his name in the 1890s with comic sketches and parodies for magazines such as Punch and the Cornhill, and later edited the weekly magazine To-Day, succeeding Jerome K. Jerome. He is best remembered for the Eliza books, a run of suburban domestic comedies, though he also wrote well-regarded ghost stories and other fiction.
