Becca Fox
Becca Fox writes crossover fiction that mixes romance with mystery, adventure, and speculative settings. Asta and the Barbarians follows Asta into a conflict between the island of Holger and mainland peoples, using political tension, survival, and an evolving relationship to drive its fantasy plot. Fox later expanded that world through Chosen by the Masters, a companion novella sequence beginning with Jessa and the Lost Goddess. Her own account explains that Jessa's story shifts the action to the mainland of Trusul, widening the geography introduced in Asta's novel. Fox describes herself as an independent author interested in realistic couples who argue, carry personal baggage, and still choose one another. Her wider bibliography includes the Andromeda Chronicles, whose science-fiction premise adds mystery and romantic development to another adventure framework. Across those settings, Fox favors protagonists facing unfamiliar communities and difficult loyalties. Asta and the Barbarians is therefore central to both a fantasy story and the larger world that its companion books revisit from new viewpoints.
