Benjamin Stevenson
Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone is narrated by a man who writes guides to crime fiction and therefore announces, on page one, exactly which pages the deaths occur on and promises not to lie.
Stevenson is an Australian stand-up comedian, and the jokes carry a genuinely fair-play mystery underneath the metafiction. The rules of Golden Age detection are quoted and then obeyed.
The sequels move the same narrator to a train and a film set. The trick could have collapsed after one book and has not yet.
