Beth Lisick
Beth Lisick writes memoir, fiction, and performance pieces with an observant comic voice. Everybody Into the Pool gathers true stories from her unconventional path through suburban childhood, San Francisco arts culture, family life, and a succession of odd jobs. Helping Me Help Myself follows a year spent testing advice from ten well-known self-help figures while maintaining a skeptic's perspective. HarperCollins records the latter book's full experiment, and WorldCat identifies Everybody Into the Pool as a 2005 ReganBooks memoir. Lisick has also contributed to public radio and helped establish San Francisco's Porchlight storytelling series, extending her interest in candid personal narrative from the page to live performance.
