Bethany C. Morrow writes speculative and social-horror fiction that uses sharply controlled narrators to examine power, belonging, race, and class. Cherish Farrah centers on seventeen-year-old Farrah Turner, whose effort to secure a place in her best friend's wealthy household becomes a tense contest over intimacy and control. Dutton first published the 336-page novel in 2022 under the fuller edition title Cherish Farrah: A Novel. Its slow-burn structure differs from Morrow's mermaid-centered teen fantasy A Song Below Water and its companion A Chorus Rises, yet all three books share an interest in young Black women negotiating stories imposed on them. Morrow has also edited the social-justice anthology Take the Mic and written So Many Beginnings: A Little Women Remix. Those projects show her range across original fiction, remix, and collaborative work. Cherish Farrah is especially notable for filtering every uncertainty through Farrah's confident but unstable perspective, making voice, social observation, and shifting authority central to the reading experience.
