Bina Shah

Before She Sleeps is set in a future Gulf city where a virus and the systematic killing of female infants have left very few women, and the state assigns each of them several husbands; a group of them live in a hidden house selling nothing but company and sleep. Shah lives in Karachi, writes columns for international papers about the lives of Pakistani women, and has published several novels and story collections. She took her degrees in America and came back deliberately, which she has written about.
