Fate Fixed appeared in 2011 and starts a two-book sequence completed by Blood Twist. The first volume establishes the coven, its rivalries, and the relationships carried into the second story. Wheeler uses Lexie's arrival to make discovery personal rather than merely explanatory: every new fact changes which people merit her confidence. The book joins a coming-of-age decision with a concealed-world conflict, asking whether inherited allegiances deserve obedience simply because they arrived before the young people caught inside them.
