Taylor spent twenty-one years in the American army, eight of them in the Delta Force unit, and commanded troops in Iraq and Afghanistan before writing the Pike Logan novels. The books follow an off-the-books counterterrorism team, and the procedural detail is the selling point: what the paperwork actually looks like, how a team moves through an airport, how much of the work is waiting.
