James Rosone writes military and geopolitical fiction, often in partnership with Miranda Watson. Battlefield Ukraine, their first Red Storm novel, appeared in 2017 and imagines an escalating confrontation involving Ukraine, Russia, NATO, and a new American administration. Rosone moved into full-time authorship in 2017 after service in the Wisconsin Army National Guard and the US Air Force. His professional background also included government contract and identity-operations work in Iraq and Europe. Rosone and Watson have continued as a husband-and-wife writing team on connected speculative series.
