Elvira Baryakina
Elvira Baryakina is a historical novelist whose fiction explores Russia, revolution, exile, and political change. Russian Treasures follows journalist Klim Rogov through the upheavals surrounding the 1917 revolution and civil war. White Ghosts, later issued by the author as The White Ghosts’ Empire, continues the Russian Treasures sequence in 1920s Shanghai, where Russian refugees encounter colonial power and a city moving toward conflict. The same chronology includes related short stories and The Prince of the Soviets. Published more recently under the byline Elvira Bary, the series combines documented history with recurring characters and family stories.
