Brenna Barrett

Brenna Barrett builds urban fantasies around independent women inside supernatural communities governed by competing loyalties. Legends Forged, published in 2022, opens The Lost Legends series with Ember Walsh, the only Witch employed by a Mage company. When a Mage friend is injured, Ember uses forbidden help to create a magical object, setting off consequences that force her to choose between her House and the people she has come to trust. The book’s framework makes institutional allegiance as important as spellcraft. Barrett also writes the Belle Doran novels, beginning with Into the Shadows and continuing with Hidden in Shadows, which further establish her interest in paranormal mysteries and women navigating concealed magical systems. Across these books, friendship is rarely a decorative subplot. It becomes the pressure that tests inherited rules, professional roles, and community expectations, giving Barrett’s fantasy worlds a social structure as consequential as their supernatural threats.
